Florinda is a Registered Dental Hygienist at Shore Children’s Dental Care. She really enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as her coworkers.
Where did you grow up? I was born in north jersey, but I grew up in West Long Branch.
What was your dream job as a child? I always wanted to be a singer or actress. I used to watch tons of kids movies growing up, and I would act or sing along pretending I was one of the main characters!
Why did you choose to work in pediatrics? I chose to work in pediatrics because kids are so much fun to work with. I really enjoy explaining things and teaching kids the importance of health. It’s really great to see their expressions when kids learn something new.
Do you have any hidden talents? I sing. I’m very quiet and shy about my talents. I actually tried out for American Idol when I was in high school.
You’re a new addition to the crayon box, what color would you be and why? The perfect shade of bright red. I’ve always loved the color red. I have so many shades of red lipstick because it’s my favorite color!
Can you play any instruments? Growing up I played the flute, piccolo, piano, and some drums.
What is your favorite cereal? As a kid I always loved Trix, and I still do!
Do you have any pets? I have a dog. His name is Gambit. He was named after a Marvels character.
What is your superhero persona? I suppose Wonder Woman. Growing up I always liked the DC comics. Wonder Woman was a strong, brave, intellectual, female character that little girls could look up to.
What’s your favorite thing about working at Shore Dental and why would you recommend the practice to parents looking for the best in care for their children? My favorite thing about working at Shore Children’s Dental Care is the entire staff. Everyone works together to get through the day whether it’s helping out a staff member or a patient. We take our time with our patients and are very treatment specific. I’ve worked in a few offices throughout my career as a dental assistant to a dental hygienist, and I have never been so happy to come to work everyday! I would recommend Shore Children’s Dental Care because we are constantly doing our best to be our best for our patients and for each other. This is a great environment for patients and staff, and I can certainly say we all love being here!
